Professional Background

I did my PhD on large scale simulations of physical-chemical phenomena in aggregating silica gels. Although this sound totally different from Cynefin methods and knowledge management, fact is that these phenomena all led to emergent properties in the natural system. Let me explain.

The starting materials were utterly boring: water, acid and silicon-dioxide (clean form of sand found in toothpaste and car-tires) but the emergence of properties was fascinating. Anyone with some knowledge in the fields of fractals will understand what I'm talking about.

Therefore I recommend anyone to run a screen-saver, creating pictures of fractals (yes, I know, it sounds outdated now) on your screen in the last few weeks before embarking on an accreditation course. It will really help in grasping the concepts behind the processes you see happening in front of you.

Projects Undertaken

* Facilitation of a 3-stage process - for modestly large group (12-15) of Young Professionals - starting with (step 1) gathering of narrative material from customers during a large commercial show (using video) and (step 2) extracting events and AVT items from these stories that were used as input to a set of three future-backwards sessions run in parallel to create a profound understanding of the past of our company and some meaningful future scenario's.

* Facilitation of several 1-day workshops with small groups (6-8) to enable to engage in meaningful discussion on the last five and next five years in their business.
