OK, if he goes through with this then I'm really impressed. Add in retrospective recovery of any bonus won by a focus on short term gain at the expense of society as a whole and I will really believe the world has turned. the first time i heard this i thought he had lost his marbles, but then someone reminded me that those CEO's are government employees and he is in fact being extremely generous!

What do they need $500,000 for, sorry to be pedantic or whatever it is I'm being - but how many lives could be improved with that money. I don't care about competitive environments, clearing up your own mess does not deserve compensation of any kind - ever.

Whilst agreeing entirely with the ideas that caps should be agreed before any government bailouts, I am somewhat concerned about any retrospective legislation as undermining a higher principle
