Carrying on filling in Facebook surveys during idle moments I moved onto Chinese Philosophers and ended up as Lin-Chi (Linji) who lived during the Tang Dynasty and died in 866 AD. He formed the Linji school of Chán Buddhism. His method to help students attain enlightenment was to yell at them and strike them abruptly with a fly-swatter, so as to shock them into a religious experience. For good measure the America folk hero I resemble is John Henry known for beating the steam hammer at hammering rail spikes, and holes into rock, so there is obviously a pattern here that some may recognise.

Ah, yes, Master Lin Chi professor ... humble grasshopper sincerely requests boarding house beating before assuming position of golden enlightenment. Makes some sense & if you know science of types, then could be applied selectively to good effect. But the business paradox is: those that most need it (and most probably secretly desire it) are paying the invoice. Japan might be a god market?
