We are currently planning the next London accreditation course 5th-7th November, and exploring options. This is an appeal to anyone who knows of good locations. We don't want a soulless hotel room, but an open space with plenty of light that can take up to 30 people with plenty or room for activities. Somewhere with a bit of character would also be good. Anyone got any ideas? Places that have worked for you? We are also open to barter (a good location for couple of free places). We think it needs to be central London but all opinons welcome.

Dave, how about the Conway Hall in Red Lion Square or some of the rooms attached to the Royal Horticultural Halls in Greycoat St - both have a quirky Festival of Britain 50's vibe and are well lit and spacious.

No in central London but an alternative which is slightly quirkly, lumens of natural daylight - and closer to home!

If you have kept your BCS membership, they apparently have good facilities at good rates.

Dave, how about the London Wetland Centre. http://www.wwt.org.uk/text/537/venue_hire.html Certainly not soulless and with great natural surroundings to look out on. I can't guarantee on price but the food was good and it is a great place to spend some time. You can get the 'duck bus' from Hammersmith Bus station to the door.
Cheers, Ron

We looked at the Conway Hall recently and it's pretty run down.
Southwark Cathedral has some nice rooms and it's a great location for food and drinks. You might also look at RIBA in Portland Place.
Then there are the City guild halls. We've had good experiences with Ironmongers'
One final venue is Regent's College, in Regent's Park. They rent out rooms and are pretty helpful. The food isn't great but you could pre-book at the cafe in the Rose Garden, which is very nice.

Isn't Southwark where the Canterbury Tales began? Good place to talk about narrative...
