Dave

I have been on Twitter for a couple of months now, but find its usefulness suffers because few of my friends and colleagues are there yet, only Julian Carver in Christchurch of people I know. Having said that, it is damned useful to know where Julian is as far as NZKM committee work goes.

Meanwhile, I have completely let my KM blog go - too little time. Having met you and taken on board some of your ideas, I may have to start a new blog on a completely unrelated topic.

I can see how Twitter can be useful for some of my current commitements - my friends in the wine industry can track my current projects, could be useful for the football team I coach etc. It could also be useful here at work - indeed that is what it should be used for - if only I can get them to start using it...

About time, Dave! heh You know what? I never thought that the day would come where I would see you giving Twitter a try. I always had a hard time imagining you giving it a try, thinking that you would not buy it right away. And look, lo and behold, thanks to Andy Roberts and David Tebutt I got to find out you are finally giving it a try! How cool is that?

And I found out about it through Twitter itself, then pointed me to your blog, while I am travelling now in the US, and caught up with some of the excellent stuff you have been putting together. Including the blog post where you indicated you went over the 549,437 word mark!

If you ever manage to extract the materials I would love to see how you may pump the stuff into Many Eyes (http://services.alphaworks.ibm.com/manyeyes/) and see what it would produce. I bet it would be quite revealing...

Fancy going for it? ;-)

So there you go, there is some of the value of Twitter, plus a whole bunch of other stuff you will get to enjoy over the next few weeks. Yes, I know, we all started like you and look where we are now. Can't live without it :D
