Last night the food and company were good, I then (rightly) walked the couple of miles back to the hotel along the lakes in Copenhagen. All good stuff, but that and a very slow internet connection (I cannot download the Archers, this is a near disaster) meant that I fell asleep and failed to complete the two blogs I planned - not to mention some other work. Now if I had read this article, I might have been more better equipped! I will do my best to catch up tonight/tomorrow.

The Archers???? I'm stunned! Shocked. Disillusioned. Surely it's just a radio soap?
Perhaps it's a litmus test of Britishness. I just don't see the appeal, yet so many of my (intelligent I might add) acquaintances are avid fans.
Maybe that's the solution - do away with the test of Britishness that applicants for citizenship currently have to take - grant passports to everyone who "gets" The Archers!

The Archers is not a soap opera, it is a cultural icon (and is older than I am).
If you don't understand it you will never understand the British.

"You will never understand the British" After nine years of being out of step, I kinda figured that! But thanks for the pointer, just the same.
