Something is up with Technorati. Authority levels are not updating, or only occasionally, searches in the watch list that used to work no longer do, or generate Spam entries. Clicking through on an entry often does not take you to the most recent entry. Checking the help discussion boards I am not the only one with these issues, and others have more.
Anyone got any idea what is up?

I think Technorati is in a lot of turmoil, and has lost most of it's authority and usefulness quite quickly. The founding CEO left about 6 months ago, the company took some dubious decisions about ho to display different lists (including an infamous WTF ? *where's the fire ?) when it's clear you'll never get that other meaning out of most peoples' heads, then they started something like counting links only so far back in time (I can't remember if it is a 6, 12 or 18 month constraint), and so lots of peoples' authority rankings changed significantly, then people noticed that the updating of new posts was spotty .. not that it didn't happen some times or even most of the time ... but it's clear that it is inconsistent, and that's the kiss of death.
It has lost most of its usefulness and relevance quite quickly ... good thing there's Google blog search, icerocket, ask.com, Yahoo, and so on.

I suppose the real question now that Jon's given all the details is what's the point of Technorati now? I think I have one or two Technorati ego-feeds, but nothing else. I've never found their search feeds to be helpful -- too much junk.
That said, Technorati was useful for finding related blogs when I used it more heavily.

Well there is a need for something like Technorati or ideally for Technorati to fix their problems, I put a comment on Sifry's blog here so if any one else wants to chime in please do so.
I think there are a couple of reasons here
So I hope it gets fixed, it would be difficult for any alternative to quickly achieve the same market awareness.
