9 days, 3 courses, 1 email catchup day and 21,354 airmiles

Its been an intensive few days with Accreditation Courses in Singapore, Melbourne and Perth. Viv Read co-taught the Melbourne one which was kindly hosted by the Department of Justice, who are building a good group of practitioners. Singapore and Perth were myself and Steve Bealing. Perth was hosted by the University of Western Australia. I like this tight linking of courses, it gives you a chance to refine material and see new links. Also in all three cases the participants were engaged and engaging, more than prepared to speak their minds. I often think you learn more from teaching than you teach ......

I'll be back in Australia for KM Australia and some work in New South Wales, and then again for a really interesting conference in Perth (which I strongly recommend) immediately after Wales play Australia in the World Cup. What I wear will depend on the results; the three feathers or sackcloth and ashes. Next week Atlanta, then the London Accreditation programme followed by Atlanta again, then teaching at the University of Pretoria coupled with an Accreditation Course. It's good to see interest so high, and with the new web site almost ready to go, and plans for take on of junior staff it looks like we are in for a sustained period of activity.

One of the things that is really pleasing me at the moment is that interest in complexity and narrative seems to have gone through a phase shift in respect of growth, especially in the US which has been silent for some time. Not only that, the interest is mainly from blue chip companies and government, all looking for new ways of handling uncertainty.

Altino Leitão:

Dear Dave,

I m CIO of the National Cancer Institute of Brazil in the last ten years and developing a KM project in this field.

I would like to know how to be a member of your group, despite Latin America was not included in the regions covered by Cognitive edge.

Please, be in touch !

Good to hear from you Altino. We are hoping to get the network started in Latin America. We already have some basic activity and interest in Caraccas and I will probably be in Brazil later in the year for a KM conference and I hope to set up some other meetings and create interest in the network. We do have Spanish speakers(but not Portugese I am afraid) able to support something if it gets started.

I am also working on a possible programme for one of the large US Cancer research institutions and happy to talk about that with you if interested. You can email direct via the web site.

Anyone else in Latin America interested please get in touch, its the one continent on which we have not run an accreditation programme and if we can get enough interest I am very happy to organise something
