For those who have asked about progress on testing blog editors following my earlier post. My trial of Ecto to create blog entries has gone well, but I have yet to get Marsedit to work. This is a pity as NetNewsWire from the same company is one of my most useful tools. I am now testing Qumana at the suggestion of. Aside from being free it appears to allow you to prepare blogs in advance with posting dates. Ecto does not have this but seems to have more facilities to link to iPhoto, iTunes etc. Another week and I will make up my mind, any comments welcome. In the mean time apologies for the odd test posting.

I've been using BlogJet happily for the last ~year. I'm not sure whether it is superior to any others, but it does have the capability to link to your Flickr account to attach photos. And there is a music "now playing" feature, but I don't think that is worthwhile for this blog.

I believe Blogjet is Windows-only ... ? and Dave uses a Mac. BVlogjet is quite good, and Dimitri has done a lot of good work in developing the tool.
Qumana uploads and inserts photos into blog posts very easily, and has an Insert HTML function for embedding anything in html tags, etc.
It also make Inserting Technorati tags a breeze.
Apologies ... I hate "pimping" anything i've been involved with, but hey it's free and I don't make any money from it ... I've used it for a long time and it has significantly changed my blogging habits.
