I introduced Sharon, newly appointed Director of Learning & Network Development at Cognitive Edge a couple of days ago, then realised that a lot of you don’t know Steve Bealing who is CEO. Gary Klein gave me some good advice a year ago: find someone you trust, who understands the concepts, but who also understands how to grow a business. When you have done that make them your partner and CEO. Then you can focus on the things you enjoy. Well Steve used to look after Cynefin for Asia Pacific back in IBM days and has proved himself a thousand times since. More than a CEO he is also a hands on practitioner, master of the Sensemaker software and he knows how to make it sing (well at least narrate). You’ll see more of the key staff in Cognitive Edge when we redesign the web site shortly, but for the moment here is a chance for those of you in the UK to meet up with Steve and get a sight of the software.

Steve is in the North East for the first full week in October, passing through London and is giving a workshop with one of our network members Stuart Smith (who needs to get his accreditation record up to-date so I can reference him). Those interested (and you should be) can get details here.
