OK, life just keeps getting more scary. We now have a parasite that can invade our minds and influence our behaviour. It can even impact such matters as the birth ratio of boys to girls. I have got to stop reading web sites on neuro-science and religious fanatics, its not good for me.
Mind you, think what would happen if they got together? Compulsory infection by mind altering parasites from the religious right. Imagine such a capability in the hands of change management consultants ....

Dave,
It could be worse. We might find out that there are people who still believe in the concept of "mean green memes". The whole "mean memes" concept and its followers sound to like another form of eugenics. Interesting times are ahead, but there are some scary people out there as well.

Dave the work of Ajai Vyas is very interesting and I'm sure that we'll come up with ways to protect ourselves, in some ways, we already have; however the information that I didn't like was from Kenneth Lafferty who appears to be drawing cause and effect conclusions from mere correlations! Let's give that up. I went back and read the horrible religious right's comments and I'm reminded that ignorance is what has always scared me the most. On a more positive note, thanks for joining us for dinner the other night. Very interesting discussion inspite of the fact that I struggled to hear because the warranty on my ears has expired!

Gloria - it's the other way round. I really appreciate your driving down from Philly for dinner. It was a lot of fun and hope to see you again soon.

Combining innocent ideas is often frightening. Single-cell parasites, genetically modified by fundamentalist consultants, running wild.
Or how I tease my colleagues in the company these days: We just got approval for a bird flu vaccine. We also licensed an anti-smoking vaccine. It's a healthcare company: smoking is bad for your health, and is forbidden on the campus. Thus: just mix the pandemic flu vaccine with the anti-smoking vaccine, have mandatory vaccination (heavily debated these days for papilloma virus/cervical cancer) and taken together - voila: another success for those who want to make the world a better place by evil means.
